Well built, plenty of suction and capacity. Only thing I would note is that really fine dust like Peat Ash, not wood ash clogs the filter quite quickly and lower the suction power(indicator will quickly show full red) but would work well on other types of Ash?

The finer the ash, the faster it is adsorbed on the dacron filter surface. If the coverage reaches 100%, the indicator will turn full red. You can still continue to vacuum, but the suction is reduced. At this point, emptyingTheng the canister and cleaning the dacron filter with a brush will restore most suction power.

It seems that the dacron filter affects the suction. Can I remove it and use only the HEPA filter?

Dacron filter has irreplaceable advantages. If you are more concerned with filtering effectiveness, security and cost, we highly recommend double stage filtration system. However, if you have higher requirements for continuous suction, we recommend that you only install HEPA. Note, make sure the ash has been cooled for more than 48 hours. Regardless of the filtration method, please periodically clean the filter to protect the motor and restore suction power.
